Seoi Gallery, Seoul, Korea, 2021
In 2021, the Seoi gallery in Seoul invited me to hang my work of the Busan Alleys. This was similar to my previous work of Seoul’s empty houses. Instead of printing on traditional glossy paper, where colors are too often over powering, the Busan photos were printed on korean rice paper, also known as Hanji. The hanji’s subdued texture and rustic colors were in complete harmony with the humble, vacant houses that I observed. These photos were then hung throughout the gallery using steel rods from construction sites.
